Jesus said, “Who are my mother, brothers and sisters? Whoever does the will of God is my kin.” (Mark 3:34-35)
Where do your neighbors feel like they belong? And for yourself, what gives you a sense of belonging?
Family can sometimes be a strong place where people feel they belong. When some questioned Jesus about his family, however, he pushed beyond usual forms of belonging to say that God’s generous grace is for all; you belong simply because of God’s love. Are there times where you have felt a belonging that is even more powerful than family? Where was it?
How can you and I continue to work on community through St. Tim’s where people feel that they belong? What in particular helps you feel connected?
