Online Resources for Children & Families

I am feeling…

What are you feeling right now… at this moment in time? We’re trying to address the emotions kids, families—and kids of all ages—are experiencing and put together information and resources for you.

Gratitude

How do we feel grateful in these times? Join us in this video for a word from Tori, and check out these resources to go alongside!

Bible Verses:
John 6: 1-14
1 Chronicles 16:34
– There are well over 100 scripture references containing the words thank, thanks, thanking, thankful, thankfulness, or thanksgiving! God’s people give thanks throughout the Old and New Testaments. Select a favorite verse, mark it in your Bible, and share it with others via a phone call, text message, email, social media, or hand-written note!

Worry

It’s normal to feel worried, or for people in our families to feel worried right now. How can we help each other in these times? What does God promise for us?

Join us in this video for a word from Pastor Liesl, drawing on Spark Bible p. 450-1 “The Promise of the Holy Spirit” and teaching a new song, “I am Here.”

If you’re ready for another activity, you can print off this coloring and activity sheet:

Grief

Grief is a powerful emotion. Children and adults can feel this strongly right now in this time of COVID without even recognizing it. We can be gentle with each other, and help one another name grief and know it’s okay. It touches our hearts, which touches the core of who we are.

Some people are putting hearts on their windows, which can be a helpful way to notice and share this emotion.

Here’s a story from North Dakota where it started recently (article – 2 min read).

Hope

Hope is taking optimism and making it goal oriented. This video talks about the story about Noah and how he had hope, and gives you an exercise on how to practice hope at home. Feel free to turn your hope into a poster or write it on the sidewalk in chalk, and share it with #sttimothycares.

Creative

How are you feeling these days? Is there a feeling of creativity bubbling up? Legos, drawing, colors, singing?

We talk about God as creative, and calling us to be co-creative with God. Share what you are doing with us – we are thinking of you!

When you’re done with your craft or song, don’t forget to share a photo or video with the

St. Timothy family, on social media or via email. We’d love to see (and applaud) your creativity! #sttimothycares
