Communications Director
St. Timothy Lutheran, a mid-size congregation in the Como Park neighborhood of St. Paul, seeks an experienced communications director for a .8 FTE position. Responsibilities include: coordinating and preparing communications, including social media and newsletters; preparing weekly bulletins and worship materials; helping prepare for activities and events; and providing information and assistance to members, visitors, callers, and others.
Applicants should demonstrate: strong interpersonal and communication skills; adaptive computer skills, including a working knowledge of social media; organizational skills; and the ability to work with a minimum of supervision. Experience as a church (or other non-profit) office administrator is preferred.

Time required: .8 FTE
Salary: $35,000 – $40,000

Job Purpose: Communications within and outside the congregation. Provide administrative support to staff, ministry teams, and congregation as needed for ministry.
Communications Responsibilities:
● Greet members and visitors, as well as answering the phone in a timely and friendly manner, take messages or direct calls
● Weekly materials for worship – bulletins, announcements, children’s bulletins, large print bulletins, Keynote presentations, scripture readings, printing and folding
● Weekly Constant Contact email with links for worship
● Maintain Website, including links for weekly worship with Google Drive
● Manage regular posts on Facebook and other social media
● Monitor all email sent to office@sttimothylutheran.org
● Prepare monthly newsletter including printing and emailing versions
● Maintain church calendar
● Prepare church mailings and materials needed for each
● Assist ministry teams with flyers, announcements, posters
● Prepare Annual Report
Office Administration Responsibilities:
● Maintain regular office routine
● Maintain office files: Google drive management, Vendor & vault information
● Order/Purchase supplies as needed, including office supplies, toner, custodial supplies, kitchen supplies, bulletin and newsletter stock
● Open mail and monitor bills with bookkeeper
● Coordinate repair or lease as needed for copier and folding machine
Maintain church records
● Member360 software, including church directory, baptisms, weddings, deaths, transfers, new members, etc.
● Maintain SignUp Genius to work with volunteers
● Oversee offering envelopes and Vanco/Simply Giving
● Birthday cards – for those over 75
Help to coordinate facility rental
● Sign out and keep record of church keys and keycards
● Filter calls requesting use of facilities or equipment, provide appropriate facility rental forms or letters of agreement, collect fees, work with renting parties
