Trees Clapping Their Hands

In Isaiah 55, we hear the prophet saying, “For you shall go out in joy, and be led back in peace; the mountains and hills before you shall burst into song, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.”

I love the imagery of trees clapping their hands! Do you ever go out among the hills and trees and simply soak in the glory of creation?

How do we long for the prophet’s words to come true in our day?

So much biblical imagery is organic – hills, trees, birds of the air, and seeds scattered to grow. How does your faith connect with care of the earth? How does your faith connect you to every living creature? Today notice one living creature, and give thanks.
